Allens Farm Oast can comfortably sleep 8, providing the perfect break for family and friends. All of the bedrooms are thoughtfully furnished to the highest standard, as is the magnificent dining room where you can host grand dinners. Enjoy the cosy kitchen, warmed in the winter by the traditional Aga, and spend the summer relaxing in the secluded courtyard while the children play in the garden.

The Oast House was built to dry hops, an ingredient used in brewing beer. The hops would have been spread out on a thin floor dried by either a wood or charcoal kiln below. The heat would pass through the hops and escape via the cowl (a rotating roof). The Oast House was converted in 2006, having lain redundant since the mid 50’s as agriculture became more mechanised and hop production fell.

Although we primarily offer longer stays of a week or more, we do offer long weekend and midweek breaks during the mid and low season. Please enquire for more information.
